About Me

Greetings!

I'm Soham Khisa, a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), where I am advised by Dr. Rebecca Williams. My research centers on human-centered approaches to machine learning and artificial intelligence, with a particular emphasis on visualization, evaluation, and fostering critical data literacy. I am expected to graduate in 2030.

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from BUET in May 2023. My undergraduate thesis focused on knowledge graphs, exploring their use in improving information retrieval and content categorization through semantic techniques.

My current research focuses on improving AI system transparency, trustworthiness, and educational impact, with particular attention to how interactive visualizations and hands-on experimentation can help enhance understanding, critical evaluation, and decision-making in AI contexts.
